Ready Trainer is the Fortune Favors the Prepared course library on a USB drive you own: 97 courses and more than 550 lessons in planning, communications, medical, intelligence, security, navigation, logistics, food storage and group leadership. It runs on your own computer, with no internet connection, no account and no subscription. Your progress stays on your computer.
The courses teach the methods emergency services actually use, adapted for households and mutual assistance groups. They were written by an emergency manager with 30 years in law enforcement, EMS, search and rescue, 911 dispatch and emergency operations. Each one ends with something you can use: a report you can send, a plan you can print, or a drill you can run with your family or group.

Start together, then pick your role
- Everyone begins with the six Start Here courses: Know What You’re Showing, Tactical Reporting Formats, MARCH-PAWS Tactical Trauma, Know Your Patient, PACE Communications Planning and the Family Emergency Plan. The whole household or group then speaks one language.
- Then choose the specialist tracks your group needs: Communications, Security, Intelligence, Medical, Planning, Logistics, Food, Navigation and Leadership
- The track map shows each track in order, and most tracks end in a capstone that puts the skill to work for the whole group
- Search the whole library by course name, code or topic

Every course is built the same way
- Short lessons in order, each building on the one before, with a course map so you always know where you are
- Knowledge checks through each lesson, built on realistic situations. The next lesson opens once you have answered them.
- A Companion Guide (PDF) with the full course in print, for the binder, the go-bag or a group that trains without screens
- A One-Pager (PDF) to tape to the wall or keep by the radio, with the steps, formats and key terms
- Worksheets, blank forms and reference tables where the course needs them, for example the ICS-205 form and a 205/217A workbook in the communications plan course
- A certificate to print when you finish, with the name you choose

For the whole household
- Each person who uses the computer gets their own learner name, with their own lessons and certificates
- Pick up where you left off: the home page shows the next lesson and every course you have started
- Back up your progress to a small file and restore it on another computer
- Print each person’s training record

Better together: Ready Trainer with Ready Ledger
Ready Ledger is the household preparedness record from Fortune Favors the Prepared. On their own, both work fine. Together, what you learn and what you keep are joined up: you plan in Ready Ledger, learn in Ready Trainer, and each person’s training goes on their own record.
- Every Ledger page links to its course. The Related Course button on a Ready Ledger page opens that course in Ready Trainer on your computer, with no internet needed. The PREP-CON levels, Community SITREP, PACE contacts, ICS-205 comms plan and supply targets you keep in the Ledger are the ones these courses teach.
- One file carries your courses across. In Ready Trainer, press Send to Ready Ledger. In Ready Ledger, choose Import from Ready Trainer. Each person’s finished courses and the ones in progress go on their record, with nothing typed twice.
- Training counts toward skills. Each finished course is also added to that person’s qualifications, issued by Fortune Favors the Prepared, and counts toward their skills.
- See the whole group at a glance. Ready Ledger’s Training page shows every person’s completed and in-progress courses, beside group training and qualifications.
- Send it again any time. Ready Ledger remembers each learner and updates the same courses instead of adding them twice.

Order both on one drive and they arrive linked (see the Ready Ledger + Ready Trainer bundle): Ready Ledger’s course links already point to Ready Trainer on your computer. Setting up takes a minute and is covered step by step in the Read Me First guide on the drive. Already have one of them? Add the other at any time.
Train your group in person
Courses are built with an in-person version for your MAG, church, CERT team or workplace: the same material, with time to practice it together. Contact us through fortunefavorstheprepared.com to schedule an instructor-led session.
