MAG-02: MAG Security Assessment
Find where your group is exposed, see it the way a watcher would, and decide what to harden first.
Course Overview, One Page
A single printable page covering what MAG-02 teaches, the 5 lessons, what you need before starting, and the doctrinal sources behind the method. Useful for deciding whether the course is for you, or for handing to somebody in your group who is weighing it up.
Why This Course
By the end of this course, you’ll be able to:
- Scope and run a security assessment of your group, and protect what it finds
- Find the group profiles that form between member households, and score every group exposure
- Map where a watcher would sit, which routes they would use, and what they would be trying to learn
- Use the weaknesses of a surveillance team as levers when you choose sites and set routines
- Rate your group’s posture by domain and give leadership a plan it can act on
Lessons 01–05
Set up the cell, the four domains, the group CIL and threat list, and the handling rules that protect a map of the group’s weak points.
Run SEC-02’s cycle across the group: aggregate household inputs into profiles, test against threats and channels, and score the Group Exposure Register.
Use SEC-03 to map how each exposure would be collected: objectives, fixed posts, mobile routes, technical collection, and a baseline of normal.
Turn repetition, choke points, and reaction to the unexpected into levers, apply SEC-02’s countermeasures, and set up anomaly reporting.
Rate posture by domain, write the report, brief leadership, tie measures to PREP-CON, set the re-assessment cycle, and pass the final assessment.
How This Course Works
| Prerequisites | SEC-02 and SEC-03 (required). INT-09 is recommended; its household inputs feed Lesson 2. |
| Audience | The group’s security lead and a small assessment cell. Leadership receives the final brief. |
| Format | Five lessons, each with knowledge checks. Each lesson unlocks the next once its checks are answered correctly. |
| Time | About three hours of lessons, a two- to three-week assessment period, and a leadership brief. |
| Final product | The Group Security Assessment: scope and group CIL, Group Exposure Register, Collection Maps, Hardening Plan, and Assessment Report with posture rating. |
| Progress | Saved in this browser on this device. Use the same browser to pick up where you left off. |
