Activation, Maintenance & Annual Drill
Where a Logistics Lead actually runs an activation — command structure, sustained operations, real mutual aid, a closed-loop AAR, drill design, and transport under pressure — for groups who’ve completed LOG-01 and are ready to go deeper.
Course Overview, One Page
A single printable page covering what LOG-05 teaches, the 6 lessons, what you need before starting, and the doctrinal sources behind the method. Useful for deciding whether the course is for you, or for handing to somebody in your group who is weighing it up.
Why This Course
By the end of this course, you’ll be able to:
- Map LOG-01’s logistics sub-roles onto the Incident Command Structure and set a real briefing cadence
- Track actual consumption against projection past the 72-hour mark, and rotate the logistics role to avoid fatigue-driven errors
- Execute mutual aid agreements under real conditions, including a partner who can only partially deliver
- Turn an after-action finding into a specific, owned, dated, and verified change — not a paragraph of intentions
- Design drill injects with a clear answer to what each one is meant to reveal, and share facilitation across more than one person
- Build a priority-loading vehicle plan and execute a cache-split and rally-point plan under actual relocation pressure
Lessons
Where logistics sits in ICS, and how LOG-01’s sub-roles map onto it.
Tracking real consumption past 72 hours, mid-activation resupply, and rotating the logistics role.
Executing LOG-03 agreements under real conditions, including partial fulfillment.
Closing the loop so a finding becomes a real, verified change.
Building injects that actually stress the system, and spreading facilitation across more than one person.
Vehicle load planning and executing the LOG-02 rally-point and cache-split plans under pressure.
How This Course Works
| Format | Self-paced online lessons, each pairing a concept (often illustrated with a diagram) with a worksheet you apply to your group’s actual plans. |
| Prerequisite | LOG-01, at minimum through Lesson 6 (Activation, Maintenance & the Annual Drill) — this course builds directly on its triggers and drill format. |
| Progression | Start with the Orientation check on the Course Map. Each lesson unlocks the next once its knowledge check is passed — progress is saved in your browser. |
| Certificate | Unlocks automatically once all 6 lessons are complete. |
