INT-12: Collection Requirements and EEIs
Define what to collect, and why, before anyone goes looking.
Why This Course
BLUF: Collectors without requirements collect whatever catches their eye. The result feels productive and answers nothing: reports pile up about things nobody asked, while the one fact leadership needs goes unwatched. This course teaches collection discipline: turning a group’s decisions into ranked requirements, breaking each into essential elements of information and observable indicators, and assigning every indicator to a collector with a place, a window and a deadline. You leave with a one-page collection plan for your own MAG.
By the end of this course, you’ll be able to:
- Turn the decisions your group faces into a short, ranked list of intelligence requirements.
- Break each requirement into EEIs a collector can actually work on, and cut the ones that would change nothing.
- Write indicators any member would recognize the same way, including the signs that the answer is no.
- Assign every indicator a collector, watch point, window, report trigger and useful-until date, and catch coverage gaps before anyone goes out.
- Build and maintain a one-page collection plan that keeps your group’s collectors aimed at what matters.
