OAKOC — Terrain and Situation Analysis
Learn to read what any piece of ground actually allows and denies — the terrain foundation MDCOA and ACH both depend on.
Every threat assessment rests on an assumption about what the terrain makes possible. Most people never check that assumption. This seven-lesson course teaches OAKOC — Observation and fields of fire, Avenues of approach, Key terrain, Obstacles, and Cover and concealment — the five-category terrain analysis framework this platform’s MDCOA (INT-06) and ACH (INT-01) courses both depend on for real, grounded input.
OAKOC doesn’t tell you what a threat will do. It tells you what the ground allows — and every downstream judgment is only as good as the terrain picture underneath it.
