▸ Tropical Storm Lala. A Hurricane Warning is in force for Hawaii County and a Tropical Storm Watch for Maui County. CPHC forecasts hurricane strength on approach to the Big Island Saturday morning, with 8 to 12 inches of rain across Maui and the Big Island and local maxima to 25 inches. Governor Green signed a statewide emergency proclamation effective through 27 August, and Hawaii County shelters open at 1800 local today. The constraint this weekend is interisland movement rather than gateway access.
▸ Two KEV remediation deadlines fall today, 14 August. Cisco Secure Firewall ASA and Threat Defense (CVE-2026-20349) and Metabase (CVE-2026-72898). Both were given three-day windows against the 21-day norm. The catalogue is otherwise static at 1,665 for a third day, so today is a compliance item rather than a cataloguing one.
▸ The Midwest flood risk moved west. WPC has shifted its MODERATE excessive-rainfall risk off Indiana and onto central and southern Iowa into west-central Illinois, with SPC holding a SLIGHT severe-wind risk on the same corridor. Indiana’s remaining 45 flood warnings sit on falling rivers, which is an access problem rather than a forcing one.
Also in the DTR: Ebola in the DRC at 4,566 confirmed and 2,128 deaths, a rise of 117 cases and 67 deaths in one reporting day; uncontained large fires down from 101 to 95 with the national preparedness level held at 5 of 5; and five EASA conflict-zone bulletins covering Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, the Persian Gulf and Jordan, all expiring 31 August.

▸ The UK criminalised support for the IRGC and HAYI on 13 July under the National Security (State Threats) Act 2026. Support carries up to 14 years, sabotage including arson carries life, and prosecutors no longer need to prove a direct foreign-power connection in every case.
▸ Four dated incidents on three continents, none claimed — Sydney, London, Sarasota, plus four federal antisemitic-threat prosecutions in Atlanta. All low-skill solo acts by apparently unaffiliated individuals.
▸ September converges 28 days out. Al-Saadi is due in SDNY on 9 September; Rosh Hashanah begins sundown Friday 11 September, the eve falling on the 25th anniversary of 9/11; Yom Kippur follows 20-21 September and Sukkot from 25 September.
