he Daily Threat Report for Thursday, 11 June 2026 is published.
Here is what is driving this cycle.
OVERNIGHT: The United States executed a second consecutive night of self-defense
strikes against Iranian air defense and surveillance targets near the Strait of
Hormuz. Iran retaliated before dawn — missiles and drones at US military bases
in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan simultaneously. US forces intercepted nearly all
incoming threats. No confirmed American casualties. The April ceasefire is
operationally non-functional. The IAEA Board voted 21-0 demanding Iran grant
inspectors access to its nuclear stockpile. Iran rejected it. The verification
blackout is now Day 103. 440.9 kg of 60%-enriched HEU remains unaccounted for.
Brent crude is climbing toward $95 this morning.
ACTIVE TODAY: The Storm Prediction Center issued an ENHANCED severe weather risk
for today across southern and eastern Iowa, northeastern Missouri, northern and
central Illinois, southern Wisconsin, northern Indiana, and central and southern
Lower Michigan. Tornadoes — some strong to intense — large hail, and winds
over 70-75 mph are possible through tonight. The key NOAA Weather Radio
transmitter serving Northern Lower Michigan is OUT OF SERVICE inside the active
corridor. Nationwide, 35 NWR stations are down or degraded.
CYBER DEADLINE TODAY: The CISA mandatory federal patching deadline for the Check
Point Security Gateway authentication bypass (CVE-2026-50751) is today. Qilin
ransomware actors have confirmed exploitation. If your organization uses Check
Point VPN appliances and has not yet patched or disconnected, do not wait.
Separately, Microsoft’s June Patch Tuesday — the largest in the program’s
history with 200+ CVEs — dropped yesterday, and a working exploit for a new
zero-day was published the same day.
WORLD CUP OPENS: 104 matches, 16 cities, 48 teams, June 11 through July 19.
Iranian-affiliated hacktivist groups have been specifically named as a threat
to tournament infrastructure. FBI has issued drone warnings for all US stadium
airspace. CISA has lost roughly a third of its staff due to the spring funding
shutdown, directly impacting critical infrastructure protection for the event.
BELFAST RIOTS – DAY 2: PSNI deployed water cannons overnight. The riots have
spread to Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Southampton. The US Embassy has issued a
formal Demonstration Alert for the United Kingdom.
EBOLA UPDATE: 598 confirmed cases, 115 deaths as of June 10. 48 new cases in
24 hours. Africa CDC and WHO launched a joint six-month response plan seeking
$518 million. No vaccine. No approved treatment.
