Almost everyone has heard the term “Bug Out Bag” or “BoB” but not everyone has one.
Why Not?
Right now we have 4 large wildfires burning here in Colorado. Evacuations and pre-evacuations have been ordered.
Right now its huurricane season on the east coast and tornado season throughout the mid-western part of the US.
Any of these events, and any number of others such as a house fire, chemical spill, etc. can create a situation where you have minutes to get out of your house. While you may keep a bag in your car that is normally set up as a Get Home Bag (GHB).
A GHB is different than a BoB!
There can be two, or more, different types or configurations (contents) for a BoB. In the scenarios we are discussing here its more of a “bail out” bag. With essentials for you to live a couple of days, like change of underwear, socks, as well as essential documents – your Family Contingency Binder or Plan. Do Not Wait!
Do not wait until there is a knock at the door or an emergency alert message telling you to immediately evacuate your home. Put a bag together TODAY.
Have your essential documents, pictures, emergency money, etc. near the door ready to go for each member of your family, including one for your pets.
