Civil Unrest – Area Intelligence

Firstly, you should be doing your intelligence work.  If you have seen my Preparedness Master Plan mind map area intelligence is one of the key areas of any preparedness plan.  It consists of a number of different elements including having paper maps and aerial images (image intelligence – IMINT) of your area.  It also includes getting maps of the different neighborhood area names (you can usually search the web and find these) and some areas also include what gangs claim as their territory.  It also includes identifying and mapping key facilities such as fire stations, hospitals and other places.  Maps are just part of this ‘homework,’  you need to map different routes to and from the places you commonly go, and drive those routes on a regular basis to become familiar with them. You should know what is going on in your community that could impact you.  To get advanced notice monitor such things as who is applying for permits to hold a protest.  Most towns/cities require some kind of permitting process.  Search web...
